The Rooted Journal
CONCEPT: The Rooted Journal is a food-centric channel designed to inform, entertain, and connect the most advanced farmers, processors, consumers, and gear.
MY ROLE: As senior editor of The Rooted Journal, I edited every story in the Fall 2024 issue of the print publication (except for two features that I wrote), totaling 23 pieces about topics such as seed preservation and AI in agriculture. These stories included lengthy features, Q&A interviews, product guides, and more.
In addition to working with a large team of writers, my role involved close collaboration with the editor-in-chief as we shaped the overall editorial style and tone of the inaugural issue.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS:
-
Charles in Charge
CONCEPT: A package of 12 stories exploring King Charles’ historic coronation, his agenda as monarch, and the state of the royal family and their finances.
MY ROLE: As lead editor and project manager, I steered this series from start to finish, brainstorming and assigning story angles and editing every piece in the package. I worked closely with a large team of reporters, editors, and BI’s Graphics and Product team to make the series happen and create a dedicated hub on the BI site. Stories were prominently featured in the newsletter and selected for push alerts and the homepage.
